Harmony From Our Hearts!
We love to share our gift of harmony with others! In 2025, we were very proud to be part of the Canada Games Arta Vista program where we performed at the Downtown Convention Centre. In the spring, we hosted our own show "Music Brings Us Together" with guest choir Spectrum and other performers. We were very pleased to be a part of the Anchormen Chorus concert "It's Barbershop Harmony Time". Of course, we enjoy many holiday performances each year, including the "Socks in the City" fundraiser for Daffodil Place and "Christmas by Candlelight" at the historic Commissariat House, a fundraiser for the food sharing network. Our chorus has been performing for over 37 years. It has given us an opportunity to perform for and support many wonderful events and programs.In 2024, Newfound Sound traveled to Sackville, New Brunswick, to attend the annual Atlantic area convention and compete in the chorus contest. This is a great opportunity for us to learn from the experts within our women's barbershop singing organization, and connect with our Area 1 members who share the same love of a capella singing. We aim to attend this convention every two years, when it is feasible to do so.
Under the energetic and creative direction of Dr. Phil Roberts, we are 25 women who come together every week to blend song with friendship and create a wonderful space for learning and fine tuning our performance craft.
